Established in 1947 and now part of the Front Porch family of companies and partnerships, California Lutheran Homes and Community Services provides a wide array of services to seniors and others in need through support of affordable housing, chaplaincy programs in retirement communities, the CLH Center for Spirituality and Aging, the CLH Volunteer Auxiliary, The Center for Technology Innovation and Wellbeing, and the Front Porch Gallery. The CLH Foundation provides assistance for residents who have outlived their financial resources at affiliated Front Porch retirement communities through its Charitable Care program.
The California Lutheran Homes Center for Spirituality and Aging provides education and resources about spirituality as it is experienced in the aging process, and is a respected resource for those interested in connecting in advocacy and education around the spiritual issues and journey of aging.
The Presbyterian Older Adult Ministries Network began in 1982, when 16 synods and a number of presbytery-designated individuals began to promote the development of older adult ministries. POAMN includes those working in presbyteries and synods, leaders in congregations, and those serving in specialized ministries such as chaplains in care facilities and presbytery staff who are involved with older adult ministry committees.
